Exchange ActiveSync User Guide

This is a quick guide explaining the use of Exchange ActiveSync and push mail technology with Exchange and Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. Exchange ActiveSync should work with any Windows Mobile 5.0 enabled device with an internet connection. Please note: in order to use the Direct Push feature of Exchange ActiveSync, your device must have the Microsoft Messaging & Security Feature Pack for Windows Mobile 5.0 installed. This feature is now available for a number of devices. Please see http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/business/5/default.mspx or contact the service provider of your device for availability of the upgrade and instructions for installation.

If your device uses a non–Microsoft operating system (such as Palm) or an older version of Windows Mobile, you may need to connect to Exchange using standard SMTP/POP3 technology. This will only give you access to your inbox and will not include your tasks, calendar, and contacts. However, a number of service providers and 3rd party vendors offer products that allow you to connect your device to an Exchange server. We do not offer direct support for these products, but they will probably work (we have verified this with a built–in program on a Verizon Treo 650). You will need to use the same settings below but the interface will be different.
